Scottie Scheffler Takes Commanding Lead at The Masters
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler fired a 6-under 66 to take a four-shot lead heading into the final round at Augusta National.
Scottie Scheffler continued his dominant 2026 campaign with a masterful third round at Augusta National, shooting a 6-under 66 to take a commanding four-shot lead heading into Sunday's final round.
The world's top-ranked player showed no signs of the pressure that comes with defending a Masters title, making six birdies against zero bogeys in what many are calling one of the greatest ball-striking displays in tournament history.
"I just tried to stay patient out there," Scheffler said after his round. "Augusta National demands respect, and I'm just trying to play one shot at a time."
Rory McIlroy sits alone in second place at 8-under, still searching for that elusive green jacket that would complete his career Grand Slam.
